NEW: How do I add new folders in Imaging?

There are three ways to add Folders within Imaging:

  1. Using the Create folder button to create a new folder
  2. Using the Upload button to upload a folder
  3. Dragging and dropping a folder or folder structure into your desired location

We'll look at each of these below.

Using the Create folder button to create a new folder

Regardless of whether you are at the top level of your Imaging account or several layers deep inside a folder, you should always see two buttons toward the top of the page:

If you click the Create folder button, you'll see the below:

Simply type in your desired folder name and click Create:

You should then see your new folder available for use in Imaging:

Using the Upload button to upload a folder

If you already have a folder with associated files that you'd like to upload into Imaging you can do so.

First, make sure that you are currently at the level within your Imaging account that you would like the folder to reside. Then, click the Upload button, at which point you'd see the below:

In this example, you are clicking the Upload button from within your Client Documents > Crane, Mary folder. So, whatever you upload will land at the top level of that folder for your client Mary Crane. Note here that after clicking the button you can choose "Folder" or "File" - in this case you'll be clicking "Folder". At that point you'll see either File Explorer on Windows or Finder on Mac, allowing you to browse for the folder you'd like to upload:

Once you've located the folder you want to upload, you can select it and click the Upload button to upload it to Mary Crane's folder in Imaging.

Dragging and dropping a folder or folder structure into your desired location

If you already have a folder or folder structure that you'd like to recreate within your Redtail Imaging account, you can do that as well. This can prove particularly useful for uploading your folder structure you want to use for your clients' documents.

First, make sure that you are currently at the level within your Imaging account that you would like the folder (or folder structure) to reside. In the case below, you are at the top level of a client folder named "Elzer, Laura", which is itself inside your Client Documents folder:

Note that you have an indicator that the folder is currently empty. If you have File Explorer open on Windows or Finder open on Mac, you can browse your computer or network folders to determine the folder or folder structure you'd like to add to your Imaging account at this level. Let's say you'd like to add your Client Files folder along with all of its subfolders to your Imaging account in this folder:

Finder_Client_Files.jpg

If you click the Client Files folder and drag it over into this window within Imaging and drop it, that upload process will begin automatically. Once complete, you'd see the below:

elzer_laura_client_files.jpg

If you were to then click the Client Files folder, you'd see all the subfolders for that folder were added as well:

And, if any of these folders included files, those would be included in the upload as well.
