Can I Import Seminars from an Excel Spreadsheet into the CRM?

Our Welcome Team is happy to assist you with importing Seminar Information from an Excel Spreadsheet! You will find our formatted spreadsheet available for download below, along with a printable key. This spreadsheet can be used to create new seminars, and (if needed) link existing contacts to them. For more information on how to create contacts via excel, please click HERE.

The following information outlines different fields for Seminars in Redtail, those marked with an “*” are required fields for even very basic seminars:

Attendee (Tax ID/SSN OR Redtail Client ID) - This field is used to link existing contacts in Redtail to the Seminar(s) they have attended or were invited to. We are not able to create new contacts from this spreadsheet and can only link contacts using either their Tax ID Number or their Redtail Client ID Number. If you do not need to link contacts to the seminars with the import, you can leave this field blank.

Seminar Name* - Name of Seminar. This spreadsheet is intended to add Seminars in Bulk - you can list multiple Seminar Names in this column if needed

Start Date* - Date the Seminar started

Start Time - Time the Seminar started

End Date* - Date the Seminar ended

End Time - Time the Seminar ended

Status (Active/Prior)* - This is a required field, please choose from the following options: “Active” or “Prior”

Location - This is where the Seminar took place.  This is an open text field and can include the name of the location, the address, or can be left blank and edited at a later date.

Description - This is an open text field that can include a description of the Seminar, or Notes.  It can also be left blank and edited at a later date.

>>> Please do not to change any of the pre-titled column headers, to ensure your import process will run smoothly.

Once your spreadsheet is ready you can simply attach your finished copy in an email to import@redtailtechnology.com along with verification of your Redtail Username.
