What is TWAIN?

 

TWAIN is a standard software protocol and application programming interface (API) that regulates communication between software applications and imaging devices such as scanners and digital cameras.

The TWAIN standard, including the specification, data source manager and sample code, is maintained by the not-for-profit organization TWAIN Working Group.

Needed Requirements?

 

  • Browser/OS Support
  • Windows XP, Vista, 7/8/10
    • IE 10~11:HTML5
    • Chrome/Firefox 27+: HTML5
  • Mac OS X 10.6 and later
    • Chrome/Firefox27+, Safari7+:HTML5
  • Scanner must be TWAIN compliant.

How do I install my service?

 

Windows

 

  1. Access the scan page on the website. You will be prompted to download and manually install the service:

  2. Click the Download Service button.
  3. Manually install the service.
  4. Quit & Restart your browser.

 

Mac

 

  1. Access the scan page on the website. You will be prompted to download and manually install the service:

  2. Click the Download Service button.
  3. Manually install the service.
  4. Quit & Restart your browser.

 

How do I update my service?

 

Windows

 

  1. Access the scan page on the website. When an update for your service is available, you will be prompted to download and manually install the updated service.
  2. Click the Download Service button.
  3. Manually install the service.
  4. Quit & Restart your browser.

 

Mac

 

  1. Access the scan page on the website. When an update for your service is available, you will be prompted to download and manually install the updated service.
  2. Click the Download Service button. 
  3. Manually install the service.
  4. Quit & Restart your browser.

How do I uninstall my service?

 

Windows

  1. Close all browsers.
  2. Go to your Control Panel.
  3. Got to the Uninstall Section.
  4. Find Dynamic Web Twain and Uninstall.

 

Mac

 

  1. Close all browsers.
  2. Find the Dynamsoft folder in the applications section.
  3. Drill down into this folder until you find the package named pkg
  4. Use this package to manually uninstall the service.
  5. On completion, delete the Dynamsoft folder.
