You can read how Permissions work in Redtail CRM here. You should note, however, that permissions work a bit differently for clients created or linked from ClientWorks to Redtail. Permission rules were updated and changed to meet LPL’s compliance guidelines on 11/10/21.

Redtail permissions are built to mirror ClientWorks permissions. For every contact that LPL sends to Redtail they send a corresponding Rep Id . If you have access to that specific Rep Id in ClientWorks, you will have access to that record in Redtail. If you do not have access to a specific Rep Id in ClientWorks, then you will not have access to those records in Redtail.

Permissions are only sent for users that have the integration turned on in Redtail. If a user has access to a client in ClientWorks but they do not see access when linked with Redtail, the integration might not be enabled for that Redtail user.

The database owner will have access to all contact records in Redtail regardless of Redtail or ClientWorks permissions.

You are not able to delete individual permissions in Redtail for contacts that are linked via the ClientWorks integration. To delete permissions, you will need to go into ClientWorks and unlink the contact. You can then remove the permissions in Redtail and relink the contact.

You can still add additional permissions to contacts in Redtail when needed.

Team permissions that are added will also be able to be removed within Redtail at any time.
