When using Retriever for Tailwag and Outlook, a user may receive the following security warning each time Retriever for Tailwag syncs:
A program is trying to access e-mail address information stored in Outlook. If this is unexpected, click Deny and verify your antivirus software is up-to-date.
The above referenced warning is triggered when another program attempts to access your contact information in the Outlook Address Book. Retriever accesses the Outlook contacts folder when syncing contact data to Outlook. Below you will find the steps needed to prevent the warning from being triggered when Retriever syncs:
Click the File tab.
Click Trust Center.
Click Trust Center Settings.
Click Programmatic Access.
To prevent this message from occurring each time a sync, you would select Warn me about suspicious activity when my antivirus software is inactive or out-of-date (recommended). This option will not prevent the security warning if your antivirus software subscription has expired or is inactive. At your own risk, you can select the option for Never warn me about suspicious activity (not recommended) to prevent these warnings at all times.
