Accounts by Contact Report

Redtail CRM offers you a large number of Standard Reports to assist you with quickly accessing information that is relevant to your day-to-day operations.  One such report is the Accounts by Contact Report.

To access the Accounts by Contact Report, click the Reports option from your Left Menu Bar to see all of the available Standard Reports within your database:

On the resulting page, your Accounts by Contact Report is accessible in the Account Reports section:

After clicking Accounts By Contact, you'll be taken to your report. Here's a look at a sample portion of an Accounts by Contact Report:

Note that the columns will allow you to sort the report data based upon that column's data by clicking the column name.

Above your report, you'll see several buttons:

The "account options" button is greyed out until you select one or more of the accounts to work with by checking off the box to the left of the account's row. Then, when you click "account options" you would see the below:
  1. Change Field - this will allow you to update, individually or in bulk, the fields you choose to change for your selected account(s):
To make those changes, check off the "Change?" box for the field(s) you want to change and then enter (or choose from predefined fields where available) the new value for those fields. Then click the "change" button.
  2. Combine - Use this to combine one or more accounts, the need for which might arise if you’ve manually entered an account that is now feeding over via an account aggregator integration. After clicking it you'll see the below:
You can then click inside the "Please Select" box to choose between the accounts you're combining which one will be the Primary Account (the preserved account). Then click the "combine" button.

Note: if there is data for an account field in both the account you've selected as the Primary Account as well as the account you are combining into it, data in the Primary account will not be overwritten. If there is not data for a particular account field in the Primary account, but there is in the other account, that data will be added to the field in the Primary account after you've combined them.
  3. Delete - this will delete the account from your database after you confirm that's what you want to do.
The "filter" button presents you with a modal that will allow you to filter by any combination of the items displayed below:
Note as well the "Saved Filters" tab here. If you find that you consistently apply the same filters to one of Redtail’s Standard Reports to meet the unique needs of your office, you now have the ability to save those filter options for quicker access to the report data you’re looking for! Clicking export will download the data and allow you to open it up in Microsoft Excel.
The pdf button downloads a report, suitable for printing.
Search sends the currently displayed contact names in your report to your Advanced Search page, where you can take further actions with those contacts.
