  • enable the Evernote integration within your database. Instructions for enabling integrations can be found here.
  • Then, from the Manage Integrations page where the integration was just enabled, you will need to click Settings under the Actions menu for Evernote:

    You'll then see the below:

Click "Authorize Access to Evernote". You'll then be prompted to login to your Evernote account and authorize access.

You will then be able to link Notebooks within your Evernote account to the Evernote Notebooks area within your contacts' records.

Integration functionality:

In order to begin using the Evernote integration, you'll need to:

As but one scenario of the types of uses you may find for this integration, let's say that you routinely use Evernote to clip articles from the web that you intend to share with clients. You might maintain a Notebook in Evernote called "IRAs", where you track interesting or important information about IRAs that you intend to share with clients. As you can link the same Notebook to multiple clients within Redtail, after setting up the link for each contact that you want to link it to, going forward all you will have to do is add new content to that Evernote Notebook and it will automatically show up in the appropriate area within Redtail for those contacts, with no further action required on your part.

Let's walk through that process of establishing the link. If we want to link Leslie Adams to our IRAs Notebook from Evernote, we'll go to Leslie's record and click Documents from the Left Menu Bar:

We'd then land on her Documents page, where we can select "Evernote Notebooks" from the Document Views widget:

We'll then see the below:

Click "Link Notebook" and we'll see the below:

Click inside the "Available notebooks" area to see all of your Evernote Notebooks and browse for the one you want to link.  Then, click "Link Notebook". We'd then see the below, if I link Leslie to the IRAs Notebook from Evernote:

Here, we see that Leslie is now linked to the "IRAs" Notebook from Evernote. And, beneath the Notebook name, we now have access from within Redtail to all Notes within that Notebook, making it easy to share that information with her whenever the occasion arises. And, we can link this same Notebook to any clients that we would like, making the information readily accessible to share with any of them at any time.

Two more items to note:

  1. You can use the "Unlink Notebook" button here to remove the linkage and then link the client to another Evernote Notebook if desired.
  2. You can use the "New Note" button to create a Note within Evernote within this Notebook.
