(CLASSIC REDTAIL IMAGING) How do I add new Folders in Imaging?

There are three ways to add Folders within Imaging:

  1. Add a new Folder to an existing Folder
  2. Add a new Folder at the same Library level you're currently viewing
  3. Copy a Folder (or Folder structure) at the same Library level you're currently viewing

We'll look at each of these below.

Add a new Folder to an existing Folder

This option is available from the Actions icon for your existing Folder. Let's say that you want to add a Folder named Life Insurance to your Client Library folder for Melissa Crane. Begin by clicking the Actions icon next to her Folder:

When you click the Actions icon, you'll then see several options pop up, including the one to "Add new folder". Click that and you'll see the below:

Just type in your desired New Name and click Add Folder:

You should then be returned to the same Library level as you were previously, with a notification at the top indicating your successful Action.

If you wanted to verify the Folder addition, you could do so by clicking on Melissa Crane's Folder to drill down one level and you'd then see the Folder addition in place:

Add a new Folder at the same Library level you're currently viewing

You can also add Folders at your current Library level. On the heels of the above, let's say you're one level deep in Melissa Crane's Client Folder (as in the above screenshot) and you decide you also want to add a Folder for Beneficiaries at the same level.  Just click the Actions for this Folder icon above and to the right of the grid:

Click "Add new folder" and you'd see the below:

Just type the New Name and click Add Folder:

You should then be returned to the same Library level as you were previously, with a notification at the top indicating your successful Action and your new Folder displayed:

Copy a Folder (or Folder structure) at the same Library level you're currently viewing

When you Copy a Folder (or Folder structure) you are creating a new Folder or Folders. Instructions for Copying Folders are here.
