What is a domain alias?

A domain alias functions as an "also known as" domain. For users with a one-on-one match for the account prefix/alias (jason@abc.com and jason@alphabet.com). The domain alias will direct all emails from the alias domain into the user account for the primary domain. So, all emails sent to jason@abc.com will go to jason@alphabet.com and the same for all other users on the domain. For sending, you cannot send from the domain alias as it is only used to capture incoming mail. Aliases are generally used when a domain change takes place to ensure that emails from the previous domain are not missed.
