Entering IMAP settings on your iPhone (or iPad/iTouch) will allow you to sync your email using your carrier's data plan.
Set Up
First, tap on the Settings icon on your device:
Then, tap Mail on the left-side menu:
Then, tap Accounts:
Next, tap Add Account:
Tap Other:
Then, tap Add Mail Account:
Now, lets enter some account information for the email account you want to set up:
Name: enter your name
Email: Enter your full email address here (e.g. paul@redtailtechnology.com)
Password: Enter your email password here
Description: Enter anything you'd like here (e.g. Work Email).
Click Next.
Then, you will need to enter some additional account information:
*Ensure that IMAP is selected at the top*
Name, Email and Description will already be populated from what you entered on the previous screen. You can use the information below to populate the rest of these fields, based upon your email address and password. Host Name in both sections should be entered as specified below.
Incoming Mail Server
Host Name: imap.redtailtechnology.com
User Name: Enter your full email address here (e.g. paul@redtailtechnology.com)
Password: Enter your email password here
Outgoing Mail Server
Host Name: smtp.redtailtechnology.com
User Name: Enter your full email address here (e.g. paul@redtailtechnology.com)
Password: Enter your email password here
Tap Next to continue. It may take a few moments for your device to verify the account information you have entered.
Next, you will choose which type(s) of data you would like to synchronize to the device by sliding the corresponding slider(s). Be sure that you have you have Mail turned on:
Tap Save to continue.
You should then begin to see mail folders syncing to your device.
