To run an Advanced Search within Redtail, click Search under your Contacts menu:
You'll then see an area where you can set up the parameters for your Advanced Search:
The Field menu presents you with a list of all of the fields within Redtail that you can set up a search for here. In this post, we'll take a look at the Servicing Advisor field:
After selecting "Servicing Advisor" from the Field menu, your next selection to make is the Operand you want to use with it. Your available Operands are:
- Begins With
- Equal To
- Greater Than
- Less Than
- Not Equal To
- Is Empty (NULL)
We'll show examples of the types of results you might expect from some of these, along with what you might enter in the Criteria box to get at your desired results.
Begins With — If you've created multiple Contact Servicing Advisors that begin in a similar fashion, using this Operand with the Servicing Advisor field will allow you to pull up all contacts who have been assigned one of those Servicing Advisors. As an example, let's say you've created the following two Servicing Advisors within your database: James Hendrix and Jan Joplin. You could set up the following search to retrieve all contacts at once that have been assigned James or Jan as a Servicing Advisor:
Like — If you've created multiple Servicing Advisors that contain similar verbiage, but not necessarily at the beginning of the Servicing Advisor Name, using this Operand with the Servicing Advisor field will allow you to pull up all contacts who have been assigned one of those Servicing Advisors. As an example, let's say you have two Servicing Advisors in your database named John Smith and Maggie Smith. You could set up the following search to retrieve all contacts at once that have been assigned either John or Maggie as a Servicing Advisor:
Equal To — Use this Operand when you want to pull up all records that have a specific Servicing Advisor:
This search would display all contact records with a Servicing Advisor of "James Hendrix" in your database.
Greater Than / Less Than — these Operands will not return any results when used in Search with the Servicing Advisor field.
Not Equal To — this Operand will pull up all contact records other than those with the Servicing Advisor you enter in the Criteria box:
Is Empty (NULL) — This Operand will pull up all contact records that have not been assigned a Servicing Advisor within your database:
